Wow! Where did this summer just disappear to??? I can’t believe we’re already nearing the end of August - it still feels like just yesterday we were getting the Garden Centre all ready for the start of May! Now, we are busy stocking up the store for all the parents starting their back-to-school lunch shopping!
After a terrific, hot and sunny summer, it will be nice to welcome in autumn! Hopefully we’ll be still having this beautiful weather well into October, letting us enjoy all that fall has to bring us!
I have some apologizing to do! I have been neglecting our website over the summer months! I had every good intention to keep everything up-to-date, but I guess I didn’t realize how busy my summer would be while entertaining a young one! And speaking of the ‘young one’ – Taylor is almost a year old!!! Where does the time go? After hearing it from so many people, I finally now understand it myself! It truly is amazing how fast they grow!
Well, we are lucky to still be enjoying lots of fresh Ontario produce! The corn has been fantastic & sweet this year, and the wild blueberries are always a treat! The farmers are still bringing in lots of lettuce, peppers, potatoes, cauliflower, and cabbage, to name a few. The roma tomatoes have started as well, so come in and pick up a bushel (or 10!) and get that tomato sauce cooked and jarred for the winter months ahead! Starting in September will be my most favourite fall veggie – fresh Ontario squash! There’s nothing like a freshly baked pepper squash to accompany a tasty turkey!
Also coming in September is The Apple Market’s annual Health & Wellness Fair! Mark Saturday, September 11th on your calendars and make sure to come by and check things out! There will be lots of companies from the industry doing product demonstrations, samplings, giveaways, plus lots of prizes to be won! Join us from 11:00am to 3:00pm - it’s such a hit every year, so don’t miss it!
So, good luck to all the parents out there getting the kids ready for back-to-school! There’s only a couple weeks left now, so you’re in the homestretch! We will be offering some great back-to-school deals and specials for the first week back, so be sure to check out our weekly flyer!
